Helping to keep children and young people safe in Derby and Derbyshire
Between February and April 2017 schools throughout Derby and Derbyshire, along with other settings working with secondary age young people, rolled out the Kayleigh's Love Story initiative.
The initiative involves schools and other settings facilitating Kayleigh's Love Story events with year 8 and 9 students.
Along with school based CSE Champions and support staff, other agency CSE Champions and Derbyshire Constabulary supported settings to facilitate events.
Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Boards', Derbyshire Constabulary and partner agencies have developed the following resources to support settings effectively prepare, deliver and provide follow up support when facilitating a Kayleigh's Love Story event.
The following films are available for use by schools and meetings working with secondary age young people:
Kayleigh's Love Story Film (full version)
Media Conference for launch of Kayleigh's Love Story
Other film clips related to Kayleigh Haywood for use by schools
There are a number of other useful resources which you may wish to consider using:
If you believe a child or young person is at immediate risk of being harmed and in need of protection you should call the Police - 999 - straight away.
Alternatively if you want advice from the Police and the child is not in immediate need of protection, you can call the Police on 101.
Please see the Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children procedures for more information, in particular Making a Referral to Social Care and Children Abused through Sexual Exploitation.
