Linda Rickets

We know that the best way to reach children is through speaking to them directly in schools. So at the heart of our Schools Service is our NSPCC Speak out Stay safe programme, delivering safeguarding messages directly to children through assemblies and workshops for children from the age of 5 to 11.

It consists of an assembly presentation for key stage 1 and KS2 children aged 5 to 11 followed by a one hour classroom workshop for children in years 5/6. We've expanded the age range from our previous programme to a wider age bracket.

It helps children to:

  • understand abuse in all its forms and recognise the signs of abuse
  • know how to protect themselves from all forms of abuse
  • know how to get help, and the sources of help available to them, including our Childline service.
