The Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnership

Derby City Council, Derbyshire County Council, Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board and Derbyshire Constabulary (the statutory partners) work in partnership with relevant agencies such as health providers, schools and education settings, probation providers and others to improve local safeguarding arrangements and hold each other to account as to how they are keeping children safe. The partnership has a number of subgroups to carry out its work.

  • Sarah Bower is the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Manager
  • Carol Woods is the Vulnerable Children and Young People Development Officer
  • Vicky Thornber is the Strategic Performance and Quality Assurance Officer
  • Sarah O'Brien is the Senior Learning and Organisational Development Officer
  • Lisa Bestwick is the Learning and Organisational Development Officer
  • Charlie Chamberlain is the Business Services Officer (Child Safeguarding Practice)
  • Sue Phillips is the Business Services Officer (Training)

Independent Scrutineer

Amanda Clarke is the Independent Scrutineer for the DDSCP, providing independent assurance and challenge to help ensure that partner agencies work effectively together to keep children and young people safe. The DDSCP Independent Scrutiny Strategy March 25 outlines how independent scrutiny will support challenge, learning, improvement and accountability across the partnership.
